Academy

Lenoir Youth Soccer Association offers an Academy Program for players in the U12, U11, U10, U9, and U8 age levels. Academy programs seek to improve individual player development, satisfaction, retention, and to build less pressured youth soccer environment for coaches, adult spectators, and match officials.

What is the Academy Program?
Academy programs have emerged as the 21st century alternative to the frustrating shortfalls in soccer development displayed by most preteens. The void is heavily influenced by coaching quality and the pressures to win at critical periods in the development process. Academy programs

What are the benefits of Academy play?
The Academy Program philosophy is to emphasize player development over team development and focus on the technical development of each child without the pressures of short term wins/losses/results. This philosophy encourages players to be more creative and the playing environment becomes more enjoyable.

NCYSA Parents Guide to Academy Soccer

The Lenoir Youth Soccer Association in cooperation with the Lenoir Recreation and Parks Department offers the Recreation Program as an "in house" program that, dependent on registration numbers consists of U5, U6, U7, U8, U9, U10, U11, and U12 teams. These teams play small sided games as recommended by the United States Youth Soccer Association. This program is called "in house" because there are enough teams within our league to play against each other.

The Recreation Program is open to all applicants regardless of ability - dependent only on facility space and coach availability.

The "Rec Program" has both a Fall Season from September through November and a Spring Season from March through May.
